Star of the Northern Lights
This is a very special piece for me. Some years ago, I designed it for a contest. The rules were 45 stitches by 45 stitches. So I did that, then found out that the magazine would keep all rights to the designs that came in. I did not like that idea, so I did not enter the contest. Besides I got to looking at it and decided it was somewhat advanced for a lot of beginners. It is stitched on an Antique White 28 count Evenweave. It uses many half and quarter stitches in the lights part, then uses very small Gold Wire type thread between the colors of the lights, and for the stars and the main “Star of the North”. You stitch it on the square, then frame and hang on the diagonal. It will be put on my “For Sale” page as I work that one up. If you are interested in the meantime, just e-mail me.
