Fireweed is a beautiful flower that grows everywhere in Alaska. It is the first thing that comes back up after a fire has gone through an area, thus the name. The blooms start at the bottom on the stem, and bloom up toward the top. When the blooms reach the top, and the cotton (seeds) comes on, it is says that there is only 6 to 8 weeks until Winter starts. So far, in the 31 years that I have lived here, it has been true. I chose it for my e-mail and main name on the web when I first started coming online. This is only one blossom that is among quite a few that grow on one stem. This piece is my own design, and measures 5” by 5” and is stitched on 28 count Antique White
Evenweave. It will become one of the charts that I offer for sale. For the time being, if you are interested in this chart, please
