Here in the Gallery, I will show you some of the pieces that I have worked on for the past 10 or 11 years. They are many and different. Some, I can tell you no good reason why I did them, except for the fact to be stitching. Some of the ones I did will not be here since I have given them away and did not take pictures before I let them go. Funny how we don't think of that until too late. Please be sure and check out the finished photos, I have a surprise there for you. You will get to see some of Alaskan Stitchery and One-Serve's artistic talents.
These pieces vary from very small, to quite large. Dartanyon is the largest piece I have ever done. I did him larger than the original kit showed, because as usual, I did him on my own choice of fabric. He is done with two strands of floss, and the bottom part is done with only one strand of floss to push it back some.
I have two pieces that are done on the square, but will hang on the diagonal. One being the two little kids with a goose, and the second one is my own design. I did it for a contest, then learned that the company would get to keep the chart, and I didn't want that, so I did not enter it. I call it Star Of The Northern Lights. It is not what I would call a beginner piece, and I do not recommend doing it on Aida because the northern lights are formed by whole and quarter stitches. It is only 45 stitches by 45 stitches, but still takes some time to do because of the lights. You could do the lights in any shiny thread that you prefer, but remember that those quarter stitches will look bulky if you use a heavy thread.
On the larger photos, where possible, I have linked to the companies where you can purchase the product. I hope this helps. These are all companies that I have used, and highly recommend . When possible, you should shop at your local needlework shop first, because that is what keeps them in business. They usually can also order whatever you need if they don’t already carry it. Here in Alaska, we have no shops, so I use the mail order method. I am always looking for good places to order from, and I try a lot of different places just to check out the service.
You will find some have the designers names, and some do not. This is not because I don't like the designer or anything like that. It is very simple. As I have done the pieces, I have not kept notes on everything that I have done, therefore, I honestly do not remember some of the designers. I would rather not put a name to a piece than to put the wrong name to it. That is the only reason some have no designers names. As time goes on, and I get more pictures taken, I will be adding the rest of what I have available for you to see. Be sure and look on Thumbs three as I now have pictures up there. I hope you come back and check in every once in a while to see new ones.
